I’m George Gasperson, Lead Pastor of Christ Community Church in Winter Haven, Florida. I’m writing this blog for a couple of reasons. My church is growing, and making a personal connection with everyone is becoming impossible. I hope my writing will help the people who attend our church feel like they know me and are a little better connected with their pastor. But I also hope to meet and connect with people who don’t attend our church. Your comments, observations, and additions to what’s written here are welcomed and solicited.

My Bio
I was born in Asheville, North Carolina and moved a lot as a kid because my dad was in the Navy. When I was 12 years old, my father died, and our family moved back to Asheville, NC to be near our relatives. Following high school graduation, I attended and graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with a degree in Biology and Medical Technology. A couple of years later, I attended Wake Forest University Physician Assistant Program, passed the boards, and practiced as a PA for over 15 years.
About 30 years ago, I had a broken world experience that nearly ended my marriage and blew apart my family. It was then that I began following Jesus Christ seriously. As I worked to restore my marriage and family relationships, I began to sense a call to become a minister. I answered the call with a mixture of fear and excitement, honored to repay a debt I could never repay to God.
After a couple of years of academic preparation, I was ordained through my home denomination, the Wesleyan Church. My family and I founded Wendover Hills Church in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2000, and we ministered there for 8 years. I accepted an invitation to join my current church in Central Florida and have been here ever since.
I have been married to Margaret for 40 years, and we have two magnificent grown sons who have beautiful wives of their own. We have two granddaughters and one grandson who have us wrapped around their fingers. I enjoy exercising, playing golf, and music.
